Ubuntu VS PcLinuxOS on Google Trends

pclinuxos ubuntu

I really dont see why distrowatch.org is reporting that PCLinuxOS is more popular, id think the worlds top search engine stats should be actively on Distrowatch.org instead of their pathetic rating system, check out these stats!

  3. What is really great is that BOTH distros are Linux and they are both getting attention.

this "mine is better than yours" attitude isn't helping Linux at all.

  4. good point, although comparison in certain areas is good for linux, maybe not for distro's...

  5. Something this could mean is that PCLinuxOS has less wrong with it than Ubuntu. People don't have to google as much to find information for it because it 'just works' :D

  6. lol, interesting concept anonymous, pclinuxos is just not as well known atm. I havnt seen anything in pclinuxos to make it easier to use than ubuntu or more hardware support or anything better than ubuntu for that matter, although im about to download the iso and keep an open mind about comparing the two

  7. im on there site now and I see that the software they have bundled isnt even updated, cant they keep an updated .iso on their site? Also no gnome, not for me. And I think gnome is more popular than kde right now

  8. I tried Ubuntu - I couldn't get it to install / boot reliably on either my desktop or my laptop. Not Ubuntu's fault, some of my hardware's bleeding edge and all. PCLinuxOS has always worked right out of the box for me. I draw the line like this: If I had to recommend a desktop for my company, I'd have to go Ubuntu for post-configure stability and vendor acceptance, but for the home PC I only use PCLOS. The livecd remastering process is the best I've seen - i.e. you don't need to go to forums and wikis, just get your system set up how you like and type "remasterme".

  9. I use both Ubuntu and PCLinuxOS both are have evolved at a great pace PCLinuxOS is easier to have up and running without too much googeling but has yet to release a 64bit version.
Ubuntu has a great user support base and works well when setup and the gutsy 64 bit version is a step in the right direction.
    Both work better than vista!
